To descend Govetts Leap is to marvel at the tenacity and imagination of Tomas Rodriguez, the local stationmaster who surveyed the route in 1898, making a reality of what others had considered quite impossible. 905 steps lead down an almost vertical descent to the foot of Bridal Veil Falls.
